What to do?

Here it is just a few days into May and it is cold out.  At 7 am tomorrow morning it will be zero or plus 1 degrees for our ride.

Here is what I am suggesting

  1. move ride to 8am
  2. change destination to Kleefeld or what ever is decided

I will send this out on riders@mitcycling.com

Man this is frustrating, dress warm.  I need to be back early as well, as the volunteers meeting for the Mom’s Day run is at 11:30 am.

About bigjac

Just a middle-aged man whose blood pressure and cholesterol were out of wack and needed a tuneup, bad. Then I rekindled my love for riding a bike -- just the simple act of turning the cranks. What happened next is I met a lot of neat people who are as nuts as I am. Ride on.

  1. I have elected to forgo the 300km ride tomorrow. As have several others that were going to ride it. Instead I was hoping to get a ride in with the group.
    See you in the morning…

  2. 8:00 A.M. at the water tower works for me. It doesn’t matter to me where we ride to. See you there.

  3. 8:00 a.m. sounds better than 7:00 a.m. Don’t let the cold get you down Gents and Val. You have to get a few Belgian Spring Classics under your belt so that you can fully appreciate the warm stages in Provence later in the season. (Once you lose your mind life really does become quite enjoyable!)

  4. Think I may be the fortunate one to be working Sat am and not available or in the position to make the big decision. “To ride or not to ride?” Saw Brian Schellenberg in the store tonight and stated that there just might be a ride heading out Kleefeld way Sat am due to the weather. Wow, what a prediction. For those venturous MITers braving the possible snow flurries, please among all else, have a warm waffle for breakfast and contemplate the hardiness of a MIT cyclist during the variations of a Manitoba May. All the best and stay safe.

  5. Well, I showed up at the water tower at 8:00, didn’t really expect to see anyone and didn’t, especially after riding through a snow storm from Kleefeld. Completed the Sarto—Grunthal loop back to Kleefeld. Who’s the crazy one now, Merle????? Was there really any question??
