Several MIT cyclists record their cycling mileage on a website called bikejournal.com.  This website has very user friendly spreadsheets which keep track of various stats connected with cycling and shows similar stats for thousands of other cyclists internationally, although mainly in the U.S.. It also records total mileage for cycling clubs.

As of today, the MIT club, in comparing total distance cycled by its members in 2009, is 113th out of 865 clubs recorded, and is the number one club in Canada.  This is quite significant, considering that only a few of us in MIT record our mileage on this website.

Back in Feb. 2008, Patrick introduced some of us to this website and I think that those that use it find it quite motivating.  At any rate, check it out.

Semi retired, semi literate, a bit reclusive, but enjoy the company of the MIT cyclists-----> a great cross section of personalities, professions, ages, interests. We all share this strange obsession with the elegant, efficient, wonderful little machine called the bicycle.
