That’s One

MIT has it’s first official ride of 2014, a whole month later than in years past.  As every rider knows it has been a frustrating start to our riding season.  While the ride was short on riders it was good to breakfast in Kleefeld and share stories of seasons past.

It felt good to ride to the meeting place then sit down and wait for riders to show up.  Course the vision of Jim riding in off Hespeler Street South or Ron cruising down Main Street remained only a vision as they have moved on to other locations to ride bike.  I already miss the stories from Jim and Ron as both were able to spin tales of past glories and were able to provide ongoing commentary of current events.

The Saturday morning rides have always been a good change from my “normal” routines as it isn’t a ride to work but a ride for morning breakfast someplace with people of common interest, to ride a bike.

I look forward to many more rides this summer from the sounds of pedals clicking in, hum of the wheels on the pavement, chatter of riders in the pelaton and especially the stories that are part of the breakfast stop..

About bigjac

Just a middle-aged man whose blood pressure and cholesterol were out of wack and needed a tuneup, bad. Then I rekindled my love for riding a bike -- just the simple act of turning the cranks. What happened next is I met a lot of neat people who are as nuts as I am. Ride on.

  1. Good to hear, Jac, that you are carrying on the great tradition of MIT Saturday morning ride/breakfast/ride.. We’re coming to Manitoba to visit our children and grandchildren in May, so I might join one of your MIT rides. I miss you guys.

  2. Hi Jim,

If you don’t bring a bike I’ve got wheels for you to use. Really looking forward to having you join us, even if it is only for a ride or two.

    Merle

  3. Sorry, boys. I never got down to Steinbach to ride with you. My children and grandchildren live in Wpg., Morden, and Boissevaine, so we kept quite busy.

    Jim
