So Here I was in downtown Fargo ND

on a beautiful Saturday with temps around the 14 C mark, the wind was almost non existent and the sky a clear bright blue.  I ached for my bike as I wandered from shop to shop looking at all the things that others wanted.  Actually I touched a beautiful Obrea at Scheels, my oh my.  Audrey, the ever gracious wife, said sure go ahead, when the sales manager asked if I wanted to take it for a ride.  Matter of fact she said wondered outloud how if our next stop would be Menards so that we could increase the size of the dog house so it could fit all 5 bikes.  Well all i did was droll alittle as I fondled it.

Stepping out into the sun in downtown Fargo later that afternoon I saw the group of roadies out on a spin.  I wondered it the MIT got out on a ride and how the weather was up there.    Hopefully the weather will allow us just a couple more Saturday spins.

About bigjac

Just a middle-aged man whose blood pressure and cholesterol were out of wack and needed a tuneup, bad. Then I rekindled my love for riding a bike -- just the simple act of turning the cranks. What happened next is I met a lot of neat people who are as nuts as I am. Ride on.

  1. Hey Jac
My advice: Bring tissues when going into a bike store. I figure it just polite of me to clean up my drool (or tears) when fondling bikes.
Additionally, I have the 11th commandment at my house: Thou shall not even think of buying another bike (or any more bike gear) until one of the other 9 (including kids bikes) is sold or wrecked and thy spouse is consulted.
Yes, it was a good ride on Saturday. Hope we get the weather for one or two more.
    Cheers, Glen

  2. Jac,
Sorry you had to endure the pain of perfect weather and no bike and no opportunity. The only consolation is that we all enjoyed a great ride for you in absentia!
I’m going to Birds Hill Park for a ride this afternoon. Do you want to come with me? By the way, I won’t be at the Saturday ride this week. Trail Prep day in the Sandilands. We’re trying to get the trails ready for skiing this winter after a summer of fun and frolicking. Hope to see you all the next Saturday, though. Sure would be nice if some of the MIT riders would come cross-country skiing with us this winter!

  3. Yikes!! Tears?drool? well I hope thats all your cleaning up with your Kleenex after fondling bikes!!
Could we maybe make the weekend rides Mid afternoon rides? It’s so much nicer out once the sun comes out and burns the frost off the old pumpkin.
    Just a thought…
