Jac has had great results mitigating his knee joint pain with SierraSil’s Joint Formula14.  So I thought I’d give it a shot too.  They claim results in 7 to 14 days.  Well, I’m a month into popping 4 of those logs every night and, so far, no changes to my knee problems.  I still feel like I can’t go down the steps for two days after a reasonably hard workout.  I’ll drain the bottle and hopefully by the first spring ride I’m pain free.

  1. Ron. I had and still have joint pain issues but to a much lesser extent now. I’ve been taking Glucosamine and Condroitin for well over a year now and I’ve noticed significant relief from the discomfort level I was experiencing prior to starting those capsuls. It seems to have helped. Stay with that Joint formula 14 for a good while longer. It is probably similar to what I am taking..Good luck with that in your “Quest for Speed” 😉

  2. It’s probably nothing you haven’t already heard before, but using Speedplay Frogs has eased my knee pain.

  3. The aspect of being 50 plus and pain free may actually be an oxymoron. What do you think helps to fund my retirement. The propriety items out there almost all have some version of glucosamine and chondroiten and possibly MSM. These definitely have value and benefit both for the pain and inflammation altho also for relining of those 50+ year joints. We see based on the studies out there that 3-6 months is definitely needed for the latter (relining). Contrary to advertising and popular opinion the relining can happen in all areas of the body … not just knees etc. One caution is diabetes as the Glucosamine may increase blood sugars when taken. Keep icing late in the day and maintain that regular exercise. It all starts to feel better again when the Peleton is present anyways. That awesome draft always makes the pain feel less. Guess we have to find out how to always stay in the middle. This has been FREE advice not linked to any brand or product. Remember though, LifeBrand offers some great products at some great savings. Lol. Oh I guess I just blew it. Bad Rman.
Keep pedaling and hopefully see y’all in a month or so.

  4. Ha, so true, thanks Hans. Went skiing yesterday and discovered enough new areas of pain to take my mind off the knees – guess that’s another strategy 🙂 .
