Just started with rollers in December. Very interesting the first ride. The fine lady of the house not to impressed with location or puddle that located itself under rollers. But that door frame did come in handy.
With Christmas come and almost gone and the new year upon us it is time to energize the senses to that haunting empty feeling as I think about that first March ride…
Oh, I wish the walls would stop laughing at my lack of form on these rollers as I look at the walls of my garage, sweat pouring down my face and my tights in places that I can’t reach because I am scared to take my hands of the bar cause I’ll fall again…
…Just 12 more weeks…eh….
Ain’t it great? Dangerous perhaps, but indoor rollers are less so than riding skinny tires on icy roads. I also appreciate the fact that the bike stays very clean, and enjoy the ability to crank the tunes on the stereo. Better yet, set up your computer and watch Paul’s video “Giroux Roubaix”. Anything to keep the legs moving.
Love those rollers, Jac! I’ve been riding them for about a month now and I’m loving it. They’re so much better than the trainer. Have you been able to wipe the sweat off your face while you’re riding, yet? Take a drink? Change gears? Ride the drops? Baby steps, right?
Looking forward to seeing you all at Hans’s barn in the new year.
