Upon review of the weather for tomorrow I pushed the Saturday May 2nd ride to 9 am.

About bigjac

Just a middle-aged man whose blood pressure and cholesterol were out of wack and needed a tuneup, bad. Then I rekindled my love for riding a bike -- just the simple act of turning the cranks. What happened next is I met a lot of neat people who are as nuts as I am. Ride on.

  1. I guess we’ll have to check the website early on the ride day. Met at 8am with all the other riders who didn’t check friday night. We waited until 8:10. Did the Grunthal loop. Had a good ride. All of us. How many were we? Let’s see. Pulled the entire peloton of 1 rider all the way.

  2. Werner, you beast. All that extra pulling will have you in great shape to pull us all into Woodridge next week.

  3. Too bad we missed you , Werner. Maybe, in future, if we change the time of a posted ride, we should e-mail using riders@mitcycling.com. There were eleven of us out at the 9:00 A.M. ride. We, too, did the Grunthal loop. Really enjoyed it. It’s amazing what a group ride does for the average speed. During the past month, riding solo, on a good day I would average 28 to 29 kph, with a lot of effort. Today my average was 30.2 kph and the ride felt great.

  4. Sorry about that Werner. Maybe we should always send an e-mail as well as the website update. I know I read e-mail more frequently than I check the website.

Good ride today everyone. A solid ride by “newbie” Kyle Koop, welcome Kyle and way to go!

  5. At the risk of sounding like an absolute wimp (especially after reading Paul’s post about the first Latke 200 of the year…), unless it starts warming up a little (like at least 5 degrees above the freezing mark in the mornings), I’m afraid convincing myself to go out for a morning ride just ain’t gonna happen!!! Which is a bummer because I miss you guys…the forecast for this coming weekend is NOT looking promising either…
