Good bye Rollers…

Good bye, Rollers it has been a good winter with the time I spent with you.  Yea I know I’ll be back some time, but for now I need more view than the workbench and car we ride between out in the garage.

But I’ll miss some things like the radio that provides the morning news @ 6 am, never know when we hear me talking to some community decision where I voiced my opinion.  or the many blues songs that Muddy Waters, TJ Hooker or Buddy Guy pumped out as we spent time together.  I’ll miss the lack of wind noise in my ears, on the road now it seems very loud at times.  I’ll miss the opportunity of just letting my thoughts wander, course wander is relative, at we did dance with the car a number of times.

What I won’t miss is the lack of people beside me, except when both of us attended the Wednesday nite spin sessions in Han’s barn.  There is nothing better than hearing the hum of the wheels beneath me on the open road, good discussion on many events in our lives and a good breakfast at some destination down the road.  It’s those Saturday rides now that the sun has warmed our piece of the planet that I need to just get out on the road.  Even the solitary rides are hard to explain, the natural high and all the problems I got to think through.  Maybe the best is riding with one or two others and the support and therapy that happens as the discussion (whine) about our daily routines is discussed.  Yup that why I ride bike!

Yea, I know we formed a fairly good relationship over the last winter, our realtionship is better than the one I had with the spinner sitting in the corner over there, somehow we just get along better.  Sorry for all the dripping sweat that fell over and around you.  But you did complain, loudly I might add, when we blew a bearing on the rollers.  Pat over at Body Driven Sports, got us going again with great delivery of new roller & belt and I can hear the radio again.

Well, although we might spend some time together on bad rain days during the next 5 months, I need to get out on the open road.  See you next winter, oh and by the way just got this new Buddy Guy CD that I am looking forward to sharing with you.

About bigjac

Just a middle-aged man whose blood pressure and cholesterol were out of wack and needed a tuneup, bad. Then I rekindled my love for riding a bike -- just the simple act of turning the cranks. What happened next is I met a lot of neat people who are as nuts as I am. Ride on.

  1. Jac, don’t you think it would have been better to have this conversation with your rollers in person? Don’t they deserve that after all that they gave to you? 🙂 Oh well – guess this is better than having the mag trainer have to tell her about the rumors…

  2. Never mind the mag trainer, what about that sexy little black pump!!!!

  3. Never mind his little black pump! I heard somebody else needs a pump to get himself up for a ride these days! Gotta see that, Paul! Apparently it’s all up in the air now . . .

  4. Well at least I don’t have to worry about going blind or calling the doctor after 4 hours!!
