9:30 a.m. There was a collision between a bicycle and a pick-up truck early Friday morning northeast of Steinbach.

RCMP Corporal Rhonda Seitz says it occurred around 4:30 a-m on Provincial Road 311, west of Highway #12. She adds, “It appears that a cyclist was driving on the road in the snow storm and was hit by another vehicle. The cyclist went to Winnipeg to the hospital and we haven’t been updated yet on his condition.” She adds he is a 43 year-old man from the RM of Hanover.

Police don’t yet know what the man was doing on the road at that hour

  1. I’m not sure if this fellow is the same guy I used to see early every morning at about 4:30- 5:00 am on Hwy 12 just north of Clearspring Mall on his way to Blumenort. He had a blinkey light on the back that got weaker as his batteries ran down. When the blinkey light died he would not replace the batteries for a few weeks. I always drove in the passing lane till I drove past him. I was not able to see him until I was really close to him because it was really dark and his vest did not reflect very well. Too bad!… It doesn’t sound like he is doing well at all.
