Just one to those rides

Saturdays ride was, “just another ride” with a reminder of how enjoyable it is to just get out and ride.  Especially that the weather is so beautiful for this time of year.  One rider reminded us that last year at this time we had already had cold and a snowfall.

The ride started fast as the four of us took off on the Mennonite Village tour including Mitchell, Randolf, Siberfelt, New Bothwell, Kleefeld, Steinbach.  A great breakfast with good stories and the ride back to the water tower at a brisk pace that all could hold.

It was all there, many of the reasons I ride a bike.  Good weather, solid bike, knowlegable riders, power breakfast, interesting stories and a raised heart-rate.  I am blessed!

About bigjac

Just a middle-aged man whose blood pressure and cholesterol were out of wack and needed a tuneup, bad. Then I rekindled my love for riding a bike -- just the simple act of turning the cranks. What happened next is I met a lot of neat people who are as nuts as I am. Ride on.

  1. This is definitely a ‘thanksgiving’ time, Jac. Thanks for the great ride and company and thanks to whomever controls those things for the fabulous weather. Every day that goes by that I can ride outside in short sleeves in comfort is a bonus in October. Helmut and I had our first outdoor ride on March 10th this spring which would make it 7 months of outdoor riding – 2 more and I can give birth to a new bike! (If only!)

  2. Sadly no rides for me this incredible weekend. However, the upside was three great days at the lake and even some pickerel to fry in spite of myself (infamously inept fisherman that I am). Yup, like Jac says, much to be thankful for. Dare we hope for one more weekend like this?
