June 26th Ride

We’ve been chattering back and forth about the June 26 and July 3 rides.  Why don’t we meet at the water tower at 7:00 A.M. sat morning (as per schedule anyways) and decide then.  Bring your passports just in case.  Personally, I don’t mind riding down to the States on both June 26 and July 3.

Semi retired, semi literate, a bit reclusive, but enjoy the company of the MIT cyclists-----> a great cross section of personalities, professions, ages, interests. We all share this strange obsession with the elegant, efficient, wonderful little machine called the bicycle.

  1. How yo’all doin’? Things are interesting in Virginia, just wish I had my bike here. But the problem is too little time to ride. It looks like I’ll be here another week.
Who and where did the ride end up on June 26? get to Landcaster? this was a rocketman ride, did he show?

  2. Sorry Rocketman didnt show. Spent the day part Du training, part mowing the inlaws, part working and part family time. All in All a great day albeit missing the MIT ride. Been a bit lean on my longer rides this year and my first Du race will be this next Sunday in Pinawa. Planning to be out for the A & W Deacons breakfast adventure on the 1st tho. Will be cycling to St Malo to watch the Tri/Du events tomoro (Sunday) and to lend support to our resident female MIT Vet doing her first Du and others.
    Rman out

  3. Rocketman, please show me how to “mow the inlaws”—-I’ve got lots of them. As for the June 26 ride, we went to Woodridge—long way out (via Giroux), shorter way back (Lab. to WT). There were 4 of us–Ron, Mark, Alex and myself. Conditions were excellent–we averaged 30+ kph. One reason we rode so fast was that we were swarmed by horseflies for much of the route.
On Sat., July 3, some of us are planning to accompany a cyclist into the USA (he is heading to Minneapolis). We will be meeting at the WT at 7:00 A.M. and all are welcome. It’ll probably be 160 km round trip, although at least one of us is panning to spend the night in Minnesota and ride back on Sunday.
At any rate, I’ll see some of you on Thurs July 1 (8:00 AM WT), for the annual Deacon’s Coner ride. May the winds be calm!!!!!
