Who woulda thought that the ride to Woodridge would turn out as it did. But in hind site we saw it all, good push going out, sun, rain, sandstorm, wind gusts up to 70 km/hr, burning quads, great pan fries, 14 km into a headwind that lowered our average for the day to 28.8 km/hr. Yep, that good old Woodridgeride, happy to be home. But I did burn 3756 calories on the ride.
Course how could I forget the support vehicle the last 10 km. Thanks Paul for thinking of us!
Who needs more character? I’m enough of a character already! But, I’ve got to find a better way to build endurance or something. What’s the use of riding all winter if that’s the result? Stupid rollers! 🙁
I want to echo the thanks to Paul for being our “pilot” vehicle on the way from La Broquerie to Steinbach so we could concentrate on not dying and keeping our bikes at that 45 degree angle to offset the wind.
