August rides move to 7 am

Due to the length of rides and home time being after 12 noon we have moved the last 3 August rides to 7 am.

Today was another great ride.  Personally it feels like I am finally getting my wind back after a sorry off season.  Course it could be that monkey (workplace) that I have been carrying on my back the last year caused me to slow down.   Want to thank all the riders that have listened to my sorry workplace tales.  Riding with this group helps to clarify life and work situations, sometimes even feel I get alittle compassion.

With a couple of weeks off between jobs the 1,000 plus km August is looking pretty good.  Then again Auds does have that overflowing job-jar that needs attention as well.   Hmm…might need a bike ride to think about what to do first…

About bigjac

Just a middle-aged man whose blood pressure and cholesterol were out of wack and needed a tuneup, bad. Then I rekindled my love for riding a bike -- just the simple act of turning the cranks. What happened next is I met a lot of neat people who are as nuts as I am. Ride on.

  1. Once again, Jac, I congratulate you on the new job. I think we’re all excited about it. I’m looking forward to seeing your plans and bike equipment for your winter commute. Remember, there is even a website where you can order a tracked device to replace the rear wheel of your bike, although I don’t think weather conditions will really get that bad.

  2. They say change is as good as a rest, but to change careers takes a huge amount of understanding people to support the change. The job? General Manager of Southeast Pallat and Wood Products in Blumenort. A short 7.4 km commute. Start work first Tuesday in September.

Over the last couple months have been working at understanding if Loewen was still the place that I wanted to spend my last 7 years in the work place. This offer of employment at the former Southeast Forrest Products came after much soul searching, prayer and talking to different people.

So now I choose to move on to new challenges knowing full well the challenges and seeing the opportunities, feeling both scared and very excited.

Best part now is the 3 weeks off between jobs so that I can ride more bike, fix the deck, ride bike, see our daughter in Alberta, ride bike, work at the job jar and of course ride bike.

  3. Jac, that’s wonderful! I hope everything works out for you. Would you like to hook up with Helmut and me for a ride this week?
