Announcing Summer Ride Series

Ok we don’t see enough of each other and some of us just aren’t riding enough, so we have decided to offer a summer riding series on Tuesdays & Thursdays starting next week.

The idea is to meet at the water tower at 7 pm, take a long look at the flag on top of the water tower.  Then decide where to ride to.  I would expect home by 9 pm.

I know most of us will not make every ride or even one a week, but if one person shows up then one person rides.  Apparently some people just don’t ride unless they can ride with others.

Well it is worth a try, and no I will not be attending each ride I still enjoy riding by myself.  So this is an oppourtunity for others to develop leadership skills in making decisions on ride location speed etc.

Check the ride column for reminders.  chow

About bigjac

Just a middle-aged man whose blood pressure and cholesterol were out of wack and needed a tuneup, bad. Then I rekindled my love for riding a bike -- just the simple act of turning the cranks. What happened next is I met a lot of neat people who are as nuts as I am. Ride on.

  1. That’s a great idea, Jac. I plan on joining the mid-week rides starting next week, July 15th. It’s amazing how a few extra rides can really boost your milege.

  2. I’ll definitely join when I can – last night was lawn mowing night but maybe next time! 🙂

  3. Werner, Merle, Glenn and RJ rode to New Bothwell via Roland on Tues night. Lots of wind, but talking about the tour and the stage 3 breakaway made us all keen to go and we had a strong ride all around.

  4. Great idea. I’m in B.C. til July 25, but will join some rides when I get back. Getting lots of hill riding in.

  5. I think RJ meant Randolph, not Roland. Although cycling into that wind felt like I went as far as Roland. Its both humblimg and challenging to ride with those much better than I. Thanks to RJ, Merle and Werner for their patience, it was a good ride. Won’t be out tonite, but plan on coming out at least once next week.
    Cheers, Glen
